About Stacey & Robert

In January 2016, for Robert's birthday, we joined friends in Roatan, Honduras for our first scuba diving trip together. On that trip we discovered our shared passion for both travel, and specifically scuba diving. Since then have tried to escape our professional lives for two international trips a year, with at least one of them being scuba focused.

Stacey has worked in Intraoperative Neuromonitoring for 14 years, a technique used during surgery to continuously assess the functional integrity of the nervous system. Essentially helping surgeons make informed decisions and minimize the risk of neurological deficits during surgeries involving the brain and spine. CNIM certified professionally, she also has a pilot's license, a Master Scuba Diver certification, and is working towards her International Proficiency Certificate for sailing.

Robert worked various roles in Information Technology for 22 years, the majority as a Cybersecurity Engineer. Having established the Cybersecurity program for a multi-billion-dollar online retailer, he grew the team for nearly 15 years through helping hire and train new talent. Professionally certified in Incident Handling, Penetration Testing, Forensics, and Assessing Wireless Networks, he also has a Master Scuba Diver certification and is working towards his International Proficiency Certificate for sailing.

Since his first job at 16, Robert has always been fascinated by what is now known as FIRE: Financial Independence, Retire Early. Learning about the power of compounding and how to invest at an early age, he treated investing like a second career. After decades of borderline obsession and foregoing the societal norms of having 1.9 children, a white picket fence, and expensive hobbies (besides travel and scuba), we are now getting ready to test his research and planning.

Join us as we transition from career professionals to a nomadic lifestyle. As we sell our house and the majority of our belongings, to live out the remaining years with our beloved Golden Retriever Bailey, and eventually become nomadic expats exploring Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe, South America, and beyond.

We are passionate about sharing our travel experiences with family and friends, and this space is where we will bring our adventures to life. From breathtaking landscapes to cultural discoveries, unique cuisines to our time on and in the water. When we say join us, we mean so literarily and literally. We will always try to have an extra room in places we stay, or an open cabin in catamarans we charter, for friends and family to visit.

Thank you for showing interest in our lives and enriching them. We love you all and through this transition, we know it is all of you who we will miss the most. So seriously, come visit!
